The past two weeks of class have been kind of overwhelming for me. Learning everything about blogging has kind of stressed me out because I have come to the conclusion that I am not that good with technology and I tend to get really stressed when I do things that I am not familiar with. Also learning what other responsibilities we have in the course seems like a lot to handle right now, but I am excited for whats next and I think it will really be a beneficial course to take. What I learned abou myself is that I am not good with computers and that I need to work extra hard with blogging to grasp all the cool things and applications you can use to make your blog the best it can be. I also learned about myself that I could do a lot more to help the environment; starting with just little things in my everyday life. The only thing that I really do to help the environment is walk to class and recycle. I am excited to learn other ways which I can help better my ecological footprint and just to learn new things about our environment as a whole. I have to consider everything I put on my blog and that it is appropriate for anyone who views it. Blogging Ettiquette is one thing that i do get! Holla to my group members!! whoop whoop;)
Hey! I think we all need to work a little harder to learn about all the applications on this blogger! I am also excited to learn how to help out our environment. I know there is definitely a lot more that I can do to help out. Good work, you're blog looks great!
ReplyDeleteKatie,
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to be stressed out over this blogging process, remember you are not alone =). I also think this course will be really beneficial. Hopefully the material will really open our eyes and help us realize how important our everyday actions are.
Props to you for walking to school, especially now when it's literally freezing out...I don't have a car up here so I too have to walk, so I feel your pain! But overall your blog looks really good, so keep up the good work!
ps. what kind of flowers are those in your profile pic?
Yeah I would just like to add that it has not been easy for any of us I think...which kind of sucks but at the same time good for us too! Just think of all the cool things we are going to learn through out the course and it may be hard now but when we finish we will look back and think "wow look at this cool thing I made". I think your page looks really good so far and it will just get better from here too!!
ReplyDeleteI also walk to school so I know how cold it is and how hard at times it is to walk when you have such a nice warm car to ride in...I have also been making changes in my life to be more enviromental friendly, such as recycleing not just in the kitchen but also in my own room and you will not believe how much I have gotten just from that!! I have also boughten those nice fabric bags for shopping instead of using plastic or paper bags.
HAHAHA. "Holla at my web group....THATS ME!!
ReplyDeleteThat was funny, I actually laughed out loud.
After reading all of the comments on this post, it appears to me that we have a lot of walkers in our web group. I should add, that I also walk. But I drive to work =( Maybe I should consider taking the DTA?!? After all, it is free....
Try not to get so stressed out over all of this blogging. Just remember that in life, there are so many things that matter outside of technology. We are letting it take over all of our lives. Although it is saving a lot of paper, and making each of us more tech-savvy what it really amounts to in the real world is that you can help people, and you can make a difference in the lives of others. Thats why we are community health educators and not engineers!! =)
Keep trying your hardest with the blog...let me know if you need help with anything. We can figure it out together, or stress out together!! --S
Katie, Looking good you are pretty much a blog master it looks like, i do agree that in the beginning it was kinda frustrating! And like it was said above we are all in this together! Great point about walking to class, i take the bus and like sara said i drive to work... made me think!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work Katie:)
Blogging etiquette is important! Walking and recycling are important, too! It looks like you are off to a good start. Please let me know if you have questions!
